Places to go and puddles to splash! Pretending it's Friday again!

Welcome to another issue of Time Warp Funtry Friday! A special day when you can pretend it's Funtry Friday even if it isn't. With the continuing saga of moving, I am ready for LOTS of Funtry Friday breaks whether it is Friday or not! Fortunately, we have them around here.

Remember how I said it rained out here? Hmmm... yeah! It rained some more. and more. and more!

Our "little red wagon rain gage" registered "half way there" on my pointy finger. Also known as just about one and a quarter inches (3.18 cm) - which is a lot of rain for a desert.

And it got a little soggy here... ummm... and watery... deja vu...

Our road looked like a miniature version of this...

Yes, someone did try to cross this wash a couple of roads south of us. No, they did not get across the wash. Yes, as far as I know all the people are fine. Final score: Wash, 1. Car, 0.

We stayed home. So did the postal service, delivery truck, and just about everyone else. After all, there were puddles to splash - which were a lot more fun than a long list of places to go! (And, yes, the four year old donned her jacket for the cool 80 ish degree (27 C) weather...)

In the matter of a few hours, the thirsty desert had enjoyed it's drink of water. This was all that was left in the wash.

Then God gave us a beautiful rainbow in our big Arizona sky!

I have placed my rainbow in the clouds.
It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
Genesis 9:13

Happy Funtry (any day) Friday!
Blessings,
Kathy

  3. I remember water 'all over the place' when I lived in West Texas! It had no where to go, so it puddled everywhere, even made little lakes! They were called playa lakes. Run off water filled them and stayed for a while. Hope you dry out soon!

  9. The people getting stuck in the wash is normal down here, Kathy! Welcome home! A few years ago they had to enact the Stupid Motorist Law because it was costing so much to pull these people and their vehicles out of danger. I don't think you get hit with the fine unless you go around/ignore a barricade though! LOL!! I can't wait until you are here permanently and I can come visit and watch taquito TV!

    1. Yep, normal for all of Arizona. LOL We had someone get the esteemed pleasure of that ticket on the road into our area in Paulden a couple of years ago. Seriously!? Both motorists got the ticket as the road was officially blocked.
