"Sworn to Protect" by DiAnn Mills - a really great book!

I am so excited to share this great book, "Sworn to Protect" by DiAnn Mills, for several reasons...
  • First of all, everyone loves a great read.

I can hardly put this book down!  I love a mystery - and I have to admit, with all the twists and turns, I really am not sure who 'done it'!

  • and...  I actually got to correspond with the author before she wrote this book!
  • and...  She thanked me!
Well, I mean - she thanked me in the emails she sent and I was delighted to share the information that I knew with her.  But!  then she also thanked me in her book!

Wow - I have never seen my name in print in a book before =)

Okay - so I am a little excited, but I thought it was awfully nice of her to do that and I just had to share it with you all!

Okay, now where did I put that book...  mmmm.... and some hot chocolate....  mmmmm.......
'night all!

Blessings,
Kathy

PS  Stay tuned for some updates about the book that Cynthia wrote and that I am illustrating - can't wait to see that one in print!

Awww - How nice! I was given the Sunshine Award!

Thank you to Linda (Artwolf) for giving me this very fun award!  Have fun visiting Linda's blog, The Briar Rose Gate and find out what her answers were, too.
And now, I am passing on this uplifting award to the blogs listed below as a thank you for sharing the Sunshine you create for others!

~Here are the Sunshine Award Guidelines~
1) Please thank the person who gave the award to you.
2) Copy the award and place it in your blog.
3) Link back to the person who nominated you.
4) Name 6 things that no one would really know, about yourself.
5) Nominate your Sunshine Award bloggers and post links to their blogs.
6) Leave a comment on each of those blogs letting them know you have nominated them for the Sunshine award.

Carole ~ Art Plus
Pam ~ Always Artistic
Marlene ~ Marlene's Musings
Angel, Isabella, and Sadie (and Mommy and Daddy) at BeadedTail
Melody at Mama's Little Ditty
Anastasia at Matt's Crafty Wife

And now *tada* here are six whacky facts about me that you probably don't know (and you may not want to know)!
  1. I always wear shoes - real shoes, not sandles.  I don't quite hate going barefoot - but I come really close to it.
  2. I don't use shampoo and I don't use toothpaste.  Check out Rose of Sharon Acres great tooth chips and shampoo bars and you will know why!
  3. I would much rather write with a good pencil than a ball point pen.  ...and I am a little bit of a pencil snob...  No, I am a huge pencil snob =p
  4. I won't watch an R rated movie no matter how good you say the movie is.  I haven't liked any that I have seen, so I don't bother watching them anymore.
  5. I recycle, reuse, and feed critters so much stuff that I cancelled my garbage service.  I only have one tiny bag of garbage about every three weeks.  This is, of course, assuming that I have not gone on a sorting and cleaning rampage.  Then it may be time for a 'dump run'.
  6. I have my gall stones.  In a jar.
TMI?  Maybe - but hope you had a little bit of fun learning some funky things about me *winks*

Have a great week - and remember, any comments on any of my blog posts this week will enter you into my fun give-away!  Details are ---- here ----

Blessings,
Kathy

I think this deal belongs on the roof... just saying...

Yep...  this would be the cap to the pipe for my wood stove.  Guess I won't be burning any wood for a while now.  And I guess I won't call that chimney sweep again, either =p  *growls*

And now, ladies and gentlemen - we pause for a word from our Sponsor because it is time for an attitude adjustment for Kathleen - a little spiritual chiropractic, if you will!

Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Psalm 150:6

Ahem.  Okay.  *clears throat*  yes.  well....  There is a lot to be thankful for here even though I know that I can't get on the roof to fix this.  Also, it means no wood fires until it's fixed *gasp* I will have to use the expensive gas heat.  And, there is, as you can see, quite a bit of 'dentage' going on here...

But, check out all of the good stuff about this little accident!
  • I did not have a roaring fire going at the time.  I had run to town, so I had let the fire go out - that meant no sparks could land on the roof or anywhere else.
  • With all the wind we had, this gizmo could have been blown into the next county - or through a neighbor's window, or crashed into livestock, or...
  • This big clunking chunk of metal could have landed on one of my little dogs.  Both of them are just fine!
  • Even though the pipe cap has a lot of dents, I think it is still usable - and all of the parts are there.
  • My neighbor (who still doesn't run away when I call him to fix stuff) will climb on the roof and fix this for me for a plate of cookies =)  Nice to have a contractor who lives next door.  I may have to make them brownies, too, for this one ;-) Lorie will make him eat them all *laughs* but I don't think Tim will mind.  Beats a huge fix-it bill!
  • I know that the chimney sweep I called is definitely not one I will call again.  This event answered that question clearly.  And, nope, I am not calling him to fix this.  Who knows what he would do up there =p
  • I have gas heat as well as wood heat (and a couple of little electric heaters) so I will not freeze my tuchus off!
Do you remember the old Haley Mills movie, Pollyanna?  Do you remember the 'glad game'?  Well, I guess this is sort of like that.  When that stuff happens, I just stop and remember Who is in charge of everything - and I start looking for the good stuff.

Otherwise I would get really cranky and you wouldn't want to come by and say 'hi'!  *winks* It would get really boring here without all of you!!!

Blessings,
Kathy

Funtry Friday - Country Give-Away Fun!

Want to have a little country fun this Funtry Friday?  How about a little give-away?  Okay - but!  You have to play a little game with me, too *winks*

At one time I had sixty chickens (which equals a lot of fertilizer, in case you were wondering!) but now I have six little chickens.  I love having chickens because they are so much fun to watch.  And, yes (no big surprise here!) I love to hear the rooster in the morning!  (noon, evening and midnight =p  Wake them up and they crow!  no kidding - hehe)  Oh, but I was going to tell you how to play...

Okay ~ here are my little chickies ~
One day this week all of my hens layed an egg.  Now, you may think that all eggs look alike, but they don't.  I can actually tell you which hen laid which egg because they are all a little bit different!  So, here is the game:  match the egg to the hen!  Here are the eggs ~
If you make a guess, you will be entered into a drawing for some free fun artwork by me!  Each time you post on my blog this week will give you one entry into the drawing.  You don't have to get the right answer to win the drawing ~ but!  The first person to post the correct matches for all of the eggs, will win an additional prize!!!

And, just to give you a little help, here ~ Penne, the pea hen, does not have an egg in there - even though she did want to play.  Pea hens lay their eggs seasonally - like geese do - and it isn't time for her to lay any eggs yet.  And, anyway - she is not a chicken regardless of what she thinks.

Um, and don't guess that chicken E laid any eggs.  Buddy has never laid an egg, but then I don't know any roosters who have.  Fortunately.

You have until midnight Arizona time next Thursday, April 1, to make your guesses and post comments to win.  (Yeah, yeah - I know - April Fools day - but, no foolin', by midnight that day no more guesses will be added into the give-away!)  On the next Funtry Friday, April 2, I will post the answers and the winner(s).

Happy Funtry Friday Fun!
Blessings,
Kathy

Watercolor for the Serious Beginner - a great little book!

I checked this book out of the library and found it to be really good!

There are wonderful illustrations and lots of demonstrations. The Suggested Exercises are really fun, too.

Towards the end of the book, the author (Mary Whyte), suggests that you form a 'personal vision' to help you know what to paint. I haven't done this yet, but it sounds like so much fun that I thought I would pass it on to all of you, too. Her suggestion is to 'paint from the heart' and she says that making a "Five Senses List" is a good way to find out where your heart is. What you do is list the five senses - taste, sight, sound, touch, and smell - in a small notebook and then list ten things in each category that really move you. Making this list personal to you is the key.

Once you have the list, you can see what things around you hold the most meaning for you. Basically, you may not want to paint those items - but something within them speaks to your heart. It could be the movement or the color that interest you and those are elements that you should put in your paintings.

Anyway, I am going to make myself a list - are you? Sounds like fun to me!

Kathy

Wednesday's Words of wisdom from Mikayla

Mikayla:  I hear the guineas *runs to window to look outside*

me:  They are fun to watch, aren't they!

Mikayla:  Yes.

me:  I love to listen to them, too!

Mikayla:  Why? *incredulous voice from six year old miniature adult staring at obviously deranged bigger adult*

me:  *picks self up off of floor from laughing so hard*

So, what do you think?  melodious? or not?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=705vg1IkF38

This video isn't mine, but I can't get my video to load on my blog *winks* or you would hear the same sweet little song from my guinea birds!

Kathy

Very messy, but very fun - charcoal drawings!

My grandmother often talked about her aunt who drew pictures of the 'kids' with charcoal from the fireplace.  Unfortunately none of her drawings have survived; however, Nana's story about her aunt always stayed with me.

Ahem.  It stayed with me enough that I have been hoarding little bits of charcoal from my wood stove.  This weekend, I got out some small pieces of charcoal and the girls and I tried it out.  It was lots of fun!

Mikayla really got into this project - with both hands...

...and quickly discovered that she could 'erase' her drawings!
This is drawing number (about) six...  She is fast *winks*
ummmm... and very........

MESSY!

Naomi did a drawing, too - erased a little bit, and decided that color and not quite as much 'dirt' was more fun.
She grabbed her crayons and a coloring book ;-)

(The bowl has some of the charcoal in it.)

I did a couple of VERY quick and rough sketches because I was curious how this charcoal would handle, too.  It was actually quite nice.  I did a little sketch of Mikayla - who was a moving target *rolls eyes* - and I found that the chunky pieces were a little tricky to use for tiny details like eyes.  They still worked if I had the time to move the chunk of charcoal around.  Ahem.  But not with my moving model *grins*.  This little cup came out a bit better.  I will definitely do more charcoal drawings with the bits and pieces of charcoal I have been hoarding.  It was lots of fun to use!

Have you ever tried this?  hehe - or are you going to hoard little charcoal bits and pieces now?  *winks*

Blessings,
Kathy

PS - see - we didn't JUST eat chocolate all weekend *laughs*

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Oh, yeah ~ I always wanted to do this! Of course, it's chocolate ~

hehe ~ did you ever hear Bill Cosby's "Chocolate Cake for Breakfast" on his Bill Cosby, Himself  album?

Well, this breakfast didn't have grapefruit juice *winks* but there was some other fruit ~ and, ummmmm ~ a surprise!

Oh *guilty laugh* what is this?  A tiny bit of evidence of what can happen at Grammy's house?  We had a little surprise gift from my neighbor who shared some of her birthday cake with us.  And, what better time to have it than after a nutritious morning breakfast *winks*

Naomi thought that it was a great idea ~ and so did Mikayla and I!

If you haven't heard Bill Cosby's "Chocolate Cake for Breakfast", do a search and have a good laugh!  And then have fun with your favorite kids *winks*

Blessings,
Kathy

Virutal pARTy fun - this time in the snow!

I love joining the Virtual pARTy fun!  It forces me not to paint every hair on a horse =p  Not much can stop me from doing that; however, the main rule for the Virtual pARTy is that your painting has to be completed within 24 hours!  That means I can only paint every other hair *laughs*  Check out The Virtual pARTy blog for all the details - and join in the fun next time.

This time we had this very cool photo from Linda Shantz of Bellator, a young Warmblood gelding that lives at Inish'Or Farm in Puslinch, Ontario.

Okay, 1:24pm - ready, set, go!

Looking good so far, but I want some snow....

um....  maybe not snow like this...

I decided to use gouache and a tooth brush to put some snowflakes in the painting.  I have done this to add texture to rocks before and liked the results.  Not so happy with it for snow...  I had a zillion white freckles.  Okay, it's gouache.  A little water and *poof* instant "no freckles".  Of course, it was basically one freckle at a time, but - hey, who's worried about wasted time?  I have 24 hours to finish this - and about one hour before the six year old and three year old grandkids arrive with two greyhounds and two rats.  No worries!  I got it all under control.  Yeah...  Under. Control.

Okay, now I am happy with the snow flakes and I have added some 'frosting' on this big boy.  I think I made him a bit colder than he was - hehe - but I like the way the little frosty ears look.

This was a very fun painting to do and I had it mostly finished by dinner time.  (Note, I said 'mostly'!)  I love the contrast of the colors and the limited palette (I only used six colors plus the white gouache). I simplified the composition a little so that the focus would stay on this pretty boy's face.

And, yes, kids, dogs and rats all arrived safely - and, since it is time to let the dogs out for one last romp before I go to sleep, I will let you peruse the pARTy fun and help yourself to the *virtual* chips and dip.

'night all

Kathy

Waiting for the next big leaky rain storm...

Okay, the last big rain storm - well, yeah, I had the bucket all ready.  If the wind blows and the rain is heavy, I have a little water blow in the vent and drip a little.  Just a little.  But ~ action stations ~ I am ready!

So, I heard the drip drip drip...  and I did feel quite silly looking up to the ceiling waiting for the water...  then, I turned around and...

say what????

um.....  huh?

Ya know, I don't make these things up ~ they just happen to me!  *roflol*

And yeah - I told myself to NOT touch that!  But I had to and it was weird.  It felt like one of those gel pad deals you use for the computer.  And, no, I didn't poke a hole in it.  I just walked away.  And came back.  and walked away.  and came back.  and walked away and went to bed shaking my head all the way.

So we are waiting for the next big storm to see if there is another mystery bubble.  If there is, then my friend/contractor is going to go play on the roof.  With lots of goopy smelly sticky stuff.

So have you ever had a water bubble under your paint when it rained?  *roflol*  I'm not sure whether I want to see it again ~ or have it just be a once in a lifetime adventure =p

Hope you are not floating away in the rains!
Blessings,
Kathy

PS  The phrase 'action stations' comes from a great movie ~ Back Home ~ with Haley Mills as an adult.  It's about a young girl who had been sent to America during WWII and is now returning home.  You'll have to watch the movie to find out what it means, though *winks*

PPSS ~ and yes, I am wild and whacky and my living room walls are red *big grin*

Happy Pi Day =)

Yep.  Today is National Pi Day.
No, not Pie Day.
Pi Day!
What?  You never heard of National Pi Day?

Well.  It happens on this date every year.  What's up there - you out in Paulden or something?  You know - like, way out there where the newspapers don't go and nobody ever heard of TV?

Check this out!
Wikipedia knows about National Pi Day ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_Day

and Pi Day knows about Pi Day (one would hope so!) ~ http://www.piday.org/

Yeah ~ National Pi Day *3.14*  Get it?  March 14!   hehe ~ the only day of the year that Pi r square *laughs*

Okay - that was worse than bad.  I admit.  I also admit that until a couple of days ago, I was totally ignorant that there was a National Pi Day.

But I did know another great 3.14 ~

I press on toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14

So Happy 3:14
and Happy National Pi Day

(see more numerical stuff about Pi here ~ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi )

Now that you have enjoyed your pi ~ go have some pie!

Just a little country road maintenance - or lack of it!

sooooo.... I thought some mystery person had graded our little dirt road out here!

Haha!  - nope, the sun just dried up most of the mud on the road. No worries, all the pot holes, divots, caverns and canyons are still there =p

You see, all these little gems are really deliberately left there.  Oh, yeah - my friend makes sure that her son-in-law fixes the road that joins ours, but he promises to leave our road alone.  Why?  Well, you see, these are the best home grown guaranteed to work country speed bumps you have ever seen!

See, there are two kinds of people out here - ones who have been down lots of slow roads, and ones who want to hurry up on every road.  We just want to make sure the 'hurry up' people slow down and enjoy the scenery *winks* and leave the dust on the road and not in the air *laughs* or in our homes =p

So the next time that you bump down a country road, enjoy the slow ride and take a look around.  Without all the dust from going fast, you can see lots of really cool stuff and have fun, too.  *hehe* My granddaughters like to sing and listen to their 'bumpy voices' *winks*  What do you like to do for fun on those off the beaten path bumpy country roads?  *roflol*  I like to drive all over the road to miss the big divots - provided that traffic (the other three people out that day *winks*) allows me to do that.

Happy Trails to you!
Blessings,
Kathy

Uber Goober Mudder.... Funtry Friday!

Ah *deep breath* the beauty of the morning sunlight glistening on the...
on the...
um....  yeah....  let's just leave it at glistening, okay?!

It was really pretty, though!  Yeah, well - maybe you had to be there.  Oh, wait, no - I am pretty sure you wouldn't have wanted to be right there.  Good thing I got this great picture of Billie Jane and the shimmering *um* ground =p

Hey - we had company out there enjoying the beautiful morning views with us, too.

Izzy (short for Isabella) and Raven - oh, wait - they are looking at the camera, not the pretty scenery...  And, oh, yeah - Whinny - well, she appears to be sleeping behind  Raven.

yeah,  Hershey and Billie Jane are eating...

Well, it would appear that I am the only one fascinated by the beauty of the sunlight glinting on the....  ummm....  *uber goober* out there.

And - I am sure you are equally fascinated...  um.. aren't you?  ah...  please???  Aw, come on - somebody out there has to like the lovely light shining on the lake of ...  errrr...  *uber goo pooh*

Or maybe I just had a little too much country fun today *winks*

Blessings,
Kathy

Some more fun continuous line drawings!

Thought I would share some more of my continuous line drawings with you.  These are really fun to do - and a bit addicting *winks* in fact, these are doubly addicting because they are little ACEOs and you know how much fun those are!

Benny Bunny

Pam's very cute little Jessie *winks*

and a fun little one of Cynthia and Mikayla *smiles*

Join the fun!  Grab a pen - I used a gel pen because the line was much finer - and get some paper - I love Bristol paper for ink work - and have a creative day.  This is a wonderful 'take-along' project for whenever you think you might have to sit and wait...  tire shop, oil change, picking kids up from school, doctor's office...  yeah, baby - we never have to wait anywhere, do we!  *roflol*

What kind of 'take-along' projects to you have handy for those 'long waits' that happen now and then?  I doodle on ACEOs - or else I pay my bills =p  How about you?  What's your favorite thing to carry along with you?

Happy (and productive *winks*) waiting!
Blessings,
Kathy

PS - Just in case you don't know ~ ACEO stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals.  They are fun little collectible artwork that are 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size.  Other than the size - anything goes!  See my blog post about ACEOs and ATCs for more information.

So, it's snowing and I am thinking about SPRING!

Yep - and my springy thoughts will not be stopped!  *roflol*  The Etsy Bloggers Carnival just jogged me back into spring mode.  Made by Melissa, one of the Etsy Blogger Team members, posted this topic for our March Carnival -

Spring time is almost here, do you have any special
items in your shop to celebrate the season?

- and, bingo!  I was thinking about all of the wonderful things that Spring brings~

Hope this brings a little Spring into your day ~ just in case you have some residual winter cabin fever *winks*  Click the titles above each image and you can cruise on over to my Etsy shop for  more details about them.  No worries - I'll grab a cup of hot chocolate and watch the big snowflakes and wait for you right here.

Never mind the secret to the universe... Just answer me this question:

How do I KNOW when it will snow or rain?

Last week - before the weekend - without looking at the weather report, I decided to go to the post office on Tuesday.  This would be the Tuesday in question...okay?  And yesterday I planned to go to the post office in the morning so that I would miss the now forecasted incoming storm...  okay???

So...  ummmm......
...my arrival at the post office... yeah...
This is before I got out of my truck and went inside =p

....ummmm.... and now I am back in the truck, and,  yeah ~ those would be my footprints there...  ahuh...  oh yeah...

But, hey - with all the rain and snow, the road looks flat now.  It doesn't drive 'flat' but you can't see all the pot holes, sink holes, and caverns =p

And, yes, I am driving on the British side of the road.  I will sink up to my hub caps in mud on the American side of the road =p regardless of how flat that road looks!  roflol!

And the rest of the afternoon?  Yeah.  Sunny.  Like real sunshine!  Like a few clouds drifting through now and then...  and then SUN.

But, hey - don't worry!  I can make it rain again in about five minutes.  Get out your rain report and get ready!  I am going outside to feed the critters *winks* and it is sure to start raining when I do that!  lol!

Five minutes *grins* go get your rain gear!

Blessings,
Kathy

So... I am not sure why my brain works this way, but...

...  I don't think it's going to change after all these years.  And if it did, I would probably have to go looking for me because I would wonder where I was =p

It all started when I did a bunch of these fun little drawings (and tossed several in a pile called:  ick, maybe I can do something with this later *lol).  Some of them I really like, though, for their spontaneous line quality.  Like this one one I did from a photo of my little dog, Lova ~

This is a little ACEO (Art Card Editions and Original) 2.5 x 3.5 inch original ink drawing on Bristol.  It's a continuous line drawing - which means that the entire drawing is one long line with no breaks.  Um... hence the pile of oops drawings - it was really hard for me to keep the pen going in one coninuous line.  That took a lot of concentration for my leetle fuzzy brain.  gadfry!

My headlong race to create a continuous line drawing began to look the same to me as my headlong race in life.  Sometimes I just go too fast and that adds to the 'oops' pile.  Yep.  Going to slow down and savor some of the quieter moments and let that pen move a little more purposefully in my life.

And I am still not sure why my mind works like that, but it's been fun so I think I will just keep on letting it ramble down the creative paths it has taken.

Hope you had a great weekend full of creative fun!
Blessings,
Kathy

Goooad Mooorning Pauldennnn! Rise and Shine!

I defy anyone who wakes up to this right outside their bedroom window at, I might add, the actual and literal *crack of dawn*, to, with a straight face, say ~

"I love the quiet country life!"

hey!  did you feel your computer shake?
oh, my...  yeah - I think mine did...

Oh, wait - I know what that was...  it was my daughter.  Yeah - the thought of waking up to guinea fowl - well, not so much her favorite thing.  Um... do you suppose that it had something to do with the 5:00 AM wake up call on her wedding day a few years ago?

Yeah, darlin' daughter - here are nine of our twelve little birdies all lined up and singing a chorus for me.  If you search the internet you will find lots of places where you can listen to their rather, um..., musical? operas!  You know you miss that sweet little call *winks*

Okay - well, now I have to ~
  1. figure out a way to dig myself out of the big hole I just dug by teasing my dear daughter so much...
  2. repair my computer from the definite shaking that it just received from my sweet, sensitive, lovely, wonderful, excellent daughter...  "who is practically perfect in every way" *winks*
  3. and, go and get some sleep so that I will be ready for tomorrow morning's aria!
*ducks and runs from the room*
(or should that be  *guineas and runs from the room*???)

Kathy

Funtry Friday - haha - found another funny mail box!

Amazing the variety of "targets" that are provided out here =p  This one has wheels - all the better to make an escape, I suppose!  roflol!

Just thought I would share a bit of country fun with you =)

More adventures with Super Truck!

Well, Super Truck has the 'Happy Seal of Approval' today =p
Nope...
no car wash...
no new paint job...
no new tires...
no detailing...
no new uphostery...
no extra duct tape (though that should be next =p)

Just a new mechanic =)  I got a recommendation from a friend for a mechanic that is MUCH closer to my home - one that did not faint when I told them where I live - and one that gave me a ride back to my house and then came back to pick me up when the repairs were done!  Okay - so that probably isn't a big deal to most people, but *sheesh* one of the chimney sweep guys just said *where do you live???* *nobody goes out there*  roflol - needless to say, he did not get the invite to come explore Paulden or my chimney =p

So, new brakes (yeah, do need those), oil change, and new air filter (now why would anyone on a dirt road need one of those??? =p  *roflol*) and a bill for $437 later, Super Truck and I are rolling.

And, hey - that's way cheaper than a new truck *winks*
Current mileage reading?  235,874 and still truckin' =)  Woohoo!

How are your 'wheels' doing?  Anybody besides me got a name for your vehicular transportation?  (ah - a name that you can share in polite company *winks*  hehe!)

Wednesday's Words - A little history fun!

Stick your nose into a little historical data, and you will come up with some very wise and sometimes humorous words *winks*

Today from Winston Churchill ~

"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."
"It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all
the others that have been tried."

"It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations."

"Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves
up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened."

"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us
as equals."

"A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the
subject."

I can't decide which is my favorite quote - hehe - which one(s) do you like the best?

A little mud, a lot of computer, and a new web page soon!

*whew* Where was I yesterday??? Gadfry... my day exploded and then it imploded… and then I went to bed *laughs*

Exploded in mud… nice, huh?

You might recognize those as shoes if you look carefully at the little black strings hanging there… yeah. Those are shoe laces =p.

And this is just from what I *laughingly* call my garden.  Well, things do grow there and I have planted some of them - on purpose *winks*

Never fear, though ~ I used my favorite trusty tool to attack that mud and then I had (reasonably) "nomal" chore shoes once again!  My trusty tool?  Check out my previous post, The best little Jim-Dandy gadget, to see what it is.

And then I landed on the computer and my day imploded...  I have been working on a web page for some time and getting things together to start a second blog so it was time to go get my domain name.  Now, I thought that would be a fairly simple thing...
  • First, I had to decide on a name.  okay...  got that...  I have two names.
  • Then I had to check to see if either and/or both were available...  okay - I had done a previous search - all clear there...
  • Then, I had to pick where to host my domain.  Gadfry.  My eyes were rolling around in my head and I had so many windows open that there had to be a virtual wind storm rolling through my computer.  After all was said and done - lots of options and lots of choices *rolls what's left of eyes* I picked GoDaddy.
  • Okay...  so how was I to know that after I picked the host that I was going to have to decide between all those options...  Snikies!
  • and read all those legal notes and snipits that you have to check out before you cyber sign the dotted cursor....
  • finally....  it was all done... and paid...
I could not believe how long it took *roflol*  Um...  could there be a little possible over researching here????  *lol* and I haven't even gotten the web page set up - but, hey, a gal does have to sleep sometime!  So the next step - or rather crash - was bed.

So how's your web page going???  Any great hints you would like to share to keep me sane while I do this???  Thanks!

Blessings,
Kathy
